Fabulous vintage 3 seat scalloped custom made SofaThis vintage sofa was beautifully custom made by a high end Melbourne furniture maker (reported by previous owners), & upholstered in a quality silk like plaid fabric of deep reds, olive green, & a light buttery tan. It features a scalloped back shape, rolled arms, piping, and a 9cm long fringed braid to the base. It is structurally sound and the cushion inserts were recently renewed to keep their fullness (they are a top quality foam). The upholstery
This vintage sofa was beautifully custom made by a high end Melbourne furniture maker (reported by previous owners), & upholstered in a quality silk-like plaid fabric of deep reds, olive green, & a light buttery tan.
It features a scalloped back shape, rolled arms, piping, and a 9cm long fringed braid to the base. It is structurally sound and the cushion inserts were recently renewed to keep their fullness (they are a top quality foam). The upholstery is intact with no areas of wear or fading, & only minimal faint or non-obvious markings to it which would most likely disappear with a professional clean if desired (though I am not suggesting this is essential). The sofa has been very well looked after over the decades by its one previous owner.
The shape of this sofa is quite sculptural, and if you love the styles of UK designers Beata Heuman or Rita Konig, like I do, you are sure to imagine it looking at home with other unique pieces in a fun and eclectic (but totally lovely) room.
